About user types

Note  The following information is for team managers.

A team can have two user types:

managed users: those who are managed by the current team

external users: those who are managed by a different team

A FileMaker ID user becomes a managed user when:

a team manager invites the user to join their team

the user transfers their account to the current team

The following table shows which tasks team managers can do for managed and external users.

If the user is not in the Claris International Inc. team, they must first transfer out of their current team. See Transferring to or from a team and Responding to transfer requests.
