Editing and converting OLE objects (Windows)
When you begin to edit an OLE object, FileMaker Pro starts the application that the object was created with.
To access to commands for an OLE object:
  •
Embedded objects
For most embedded OLE objects, commands from other applications are merged with the FileMaker Pro menus. (For OLE 1.0, an object is displayed in a separate window of the original application, and the FileMaker Pro container field has a hatched pattern to indicate the active object.)
FileMaker Pro applies Picture formats to objects in fields or layouts, and you may be unable to see the entire object in FileMaker Pro. You can edit objects in FileMaker Pro at all zoom levels.
Linked objects (OLE 2.0 and OLE 1.0)
Linked OLE objects are displayed in a separate window of the original application.
Converting OLE objects
You can convert an object temporarily or permanently to a different application format, if that application supports the OLE conversion. For example, you can convert an OLE object that was created in a word processing application not installed on your computer, if you have an application that the OLE object can be converted to.
