Updating OLE links manually (Windows)
Update a link to synchronize your view of a linked OLE object with the source file. Updating a link ensures that you're working with the most current information.
You can set a link to update manually, so that you control when you want a link to be updated. Once a link is set to update manually, you must update the link whenever you want the information updated.
To set links to update manually:
1.
Choose Edit menu > Object > Links.
2.
In the Links dialog, select the link to update manually, then select Manual.
To update a link that's set to update manually:
1.
Choose Edit menu > Object > Links.
2.
In the Links dialog, click Update Now.
Note  Manual links are also updated with the Update Link script step and when Update all Links before printing is selected in the Print dialog.
