Syncing for the First Time
After you have connected Bento for Mac and Bento for iPhone or Bento for iPad to the same Wi-Fi network, you can sync the databases.
Before syncing, back up your Bento data. For more information, see Chapter 10, “Backing Up and Restoring Information” on page 133.
Note  You can’t sync Bento 4 for iPad with the Bento Address Book library. To work with your Address Book data on Bento 4 for iPad, migrate your Address Book library to a new Bento Contacts library, then sync with Bento 4 for iPad. The Bento Contacts library is not connected to the Mac Address Book application.
To sync for the first time:

Tap Sync with a New Computer.

Note  If your device is not connected to a Wi-Fi network, an alert appears. To connect to a Wi-Fi network, see Connecting Your Device to the Same Wi-Fi Network as Your Computer” on page 139.

Start Bento for Mac, then choose File > Set Up Sync with Device.

The sync starts.

In the Migrate Address Book library dialog, click OK to migrate your Address Book data now, then follow the onscreen instructions. After the migration is complete, in Bento for Mac, click Close in the Migration Complete dialog, then click Done to close the Sync window.
The Address Book library in Bento for Mac is replaced with a Bento Contacts library.

If you migrated the Address Book library in Bento for Mac, sync again to view the information in Bento for iPhone or Bento 4 for iPad. See Syncing Bento for Mac with Bento for iPhone or Bento for iPad” on page 141. After you sync, the Address Book library on your device is replaced with a Bento Contacts library.
Note  If you want to know when you last synced, check the timestamp in the Sync & Setup screen (Bento for iPhone) or the Sync window (Bento for iPad).
