Setting a Password for Your Bento Database
You can set a password to protect your database. The Database Password also protects all encrypted fields. To set a password for accessing a shared database, see ”Setting a Password for a Shared Database” on page 38.
To set the Database Password:

Choose Bento > Preferences.

Click Security at the top of the window.

Select Use Database Password.

For Enter Database Password, type the password. Maximum length is 20 characters.

For Confirm, type the password again.

(Optional) For Password Hint, type a word or phrase to help you remember the password.

Keep your password in a safe place.
Important  If you forget your password, it is not possible to recover it.

Click Set Password.

Click the lock to prevent further changes.
 
To clear the Database Password:
1
Choose Bento > Preferences.

Click Security at the top of the window.

Click the lock to make changes.
4
Enter your Database Password, then click Submit.
5
Deselect Use Database Password.
You can’t deselect Use Database Password if there are encrypted fields in use.
