FileMaker Pro Advanced lets you create emails based on record data.
You can:
•send one email to a single address or multiple addresses. See Sending email messages.
•send separate, customized emails based on each record in the found set. See Sending email messages.
•create a script that sends email. See Automating tasks with scripts and Send Mail script step.
•send a snapshot link of a found set. See Saving and sending records as a snapshot link.
Generated email is sent using your default email application or directly through SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, a set of criteria for sending and receiving email). Send email through SMTP, for example, if no email application is installed on your computer.
To send mail through an email application, you must have a supported email application installed and configured properly on your computer. See FileMaker Pro Advanced technical specifications.
Important In Windows, to send email through an email application, you must have a 32-bit email application if you use the 32-bit version of FileMaker Pro Advanced. If you use the 64-bit version of FileMaker Pro Advanced, you must have a 64-bit email application.
