Working with plug-ins
C or C++ programmers familiar with calculations in FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Pro Advanced can create plug-ins that extend the feature set of FileMaker Pro.
This section describes how to:
Create plug-ins and make them available to users.
Install plug-ins in solution files.
Set up solution files to check plug-in version information and update plug-ins automatically, if needed.
Note  In Windows, FileMaker Pro can be deployed as a 32-bit or 64-bit application. In OS X, FileMaker Pro runs only as a 64-bit application. This may affect compatibility with plug-ins that support only a single architecture. Using an incompatible combination of FileMaker Pro and plug-ins may result in unexpected behavior or cause FileMaker Pro to stop working. To determine if a plug-in supports 32-bit, 64-bit, or both, contact the plug-in's developer. To switch to 32-bit or 64-bit FileMaker Pro in Windows or to disable incompatible plug-ins, visit the FileMaker Knowledge Base available at http://help.filemaker.com.
