Saving and Sending Data

You can save or email a local file, the contents of a field, or a snapshot link file.

Save or email a copy of a file

  1. Transfer the file to your device.
  2. Open the local file.
  3. Tap Actions menu icon.
  4. Tap Save/Send As Actions menu icon.
  5. Tap Database.
  6. (optional) Change the filename.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Tap Email. Compose the message, then tap Send.
    • Tap Save. The file appears in the Device list in the Launch Center window.
    FileMaker Go appends "Copy" to the filename.

Save or email the contents of a field

  1. Go to the record that contains the field.
  2. Tap the field that contains the data.
  3. Tap Actions menu icon.
  4. Tap Save/Send As Actions menu icon.
  5. Tap Field Contents.
  6. (optional) Change the filename.
  7. (optional) For a container field with images, choose an image size.
  8. Do one of the following:
    • Tap Email. Compose the message, then tap Send.
    • Tap Save. The file appears in the Device list in the Launch Center window.

    You can copy and paste the contents of a field between other fields, FileMaker files, and other apps on the device.

Save or email records as a snapshot link file

  1. Find the records to save as a snapshot link.
  2. Tap Actions menu icon.
  3. Tap Save/Send As Actions menu icon.
  4. Tap Snapshot Link.
  5. (optional) Change the filename.
  6. Choose Found Set or Current Record.
  7. Do one of the following:
    • Tap Email. Compose the message, then tap Send.
    • Tap Save. The file appears in the Device list in the Launch Center window.

View the field contents or snapshot link file that you saved

  1. Tap Actions menu icon.
  2. Tap Launch Center Launch Center icon, then tap DeviceDevice icon.
  3. Tap the file.
