Saving OLE objects in their original formats (Windows)
FileMaker Pro 12 does not support inserting OLE objects into container fields or on layouts. If your FileMaker Pro database includes OLE objects, after converting the database, you can activate and save the OLE objects using their original applications.
To activate and save an OLE object as a file in its original format:
1.
For example, if the OLE object is a bitmap image, the command is Open Bitmap Image.
The application used to create the object opens.
2.
For example, save an Excel object as an .xlsx file.
For more information, see the documentation that came with the application.
Notes
 •
To edit an OLE object, double-click the object, then choose Edit menu > Object > Edit <file type>. Make your changes, then click outside the object to save the changes.
 •
You cannot export OLE objects from a FileMaker Pro 12 or earlier database.
