Recording and playing sounds in fields
You can record sound as data in FileMaker Pro, and play sounds in container fields.
Before you record sounds, make sure your computer has the proper equipment and software to record sounds:

The audio input device must be configured properly in the Hardware and Sound Control Panel (Windows Vista), Sounds and Audio Devices Control Panel (Windows XP), or the Sound System Preference (Mac OS).
To record a sound:

In Browse mode, click a blank container field, then choose Insert menu > Sound.

For example, speak into the microphone, or play the sound that you want to record with your audio input device.
To pause during recording, click Pause.

The sound icon Sound icon is displayed in the container field.
To play a sound:

You can paste sounds from the Clipboard into container fields. (You can't insert sounds in the same way you insert graphics, movies, or QuickTime multimedia, unless the sound is a QuickTime file.)

If a sound is compressed on a Mac OS-based computer, you might not be able to play it on a Windows-based computer.
